Significant Activities over past 2 wks

FOX Model Search Audition 2011 - DD was shortlisted for the audition. He only had 2 days for us to "teach" him how to do a catwalk. He did very well for the event. He was very cool and calm. Facial Improvement - Started going for regular facials. Did research on cosmetics and skincare pdt. Bought Dr Ci Labo BB Cream, and mineral loose powder, Origins Clear Improvement Mask and Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil. Checked out the contents of loose powders and compact powders. Went to get samples for Dr Ci Labo, Fancl, Laniege, Lancome, SKII, Shu Uemura, Clinique. Wardrobe Update - Crazy About Lace. I've been busy shopping for clothes recently because laced clothings are hot in season. And I simply LOVE lace. Been especially hooked to Forever 21 coz they've so many nice lace clothings at very reasonable prices (20+, 30+). Started buying stuff from Dressy too. Disney on Ice - Happened to see the ad for it only 1 wk before the event. Tot that the tickets would have been all sold out (like The Gingerbreadman), but surprisingly it was not. We bot the Premium tickets ($80.50 each), and sat at the 3rd row. View was good. Actual show was so-so. But glad that Darren was "fine" after the show, and didn't miss Mickey.

Papaya White Fungus Pork Rib Soup

I found fresh white fungus at NTUC finesse, without preservatives, pesticides and bleaching agent. At the same time, DH is having some throat / cough irritation. So I bought it to cook and nourish his lungs. I cooked it with Papaya, Pork Ribs, and Wolfberry, and Gugu and Ah Ma managed to try some too. Darren loved it a lot, much to my surprise. I think he likes due to the orange color of the papaya and wolfberry. Surprisingly, he like the jelly like white fugus. He actually kept asking for more.

My cooking adventure

This week, I ooked the following:

  • Sharks fin melon soup

  • Fried cabbage (was it 500g) with fresh mushroom and dried shrimps Spaghetti with fresh mushroom and bacon

  • Bittergourd soup (Rem to rub bittergourd with salt and blanch in salt water) Asparagus (whole pack), with sweet corn and fresh mushroom

  • Sweet and Sour Pork - Everybody loved this! (Added crunchy cucumbers too..yummy!). 300g meat. Marinate with 2 tbsp light soy sauce, dash of pepper and 1 egg for 30min. For coating, mix equal amt of kentucky powder with corn flour. For Sauce, 6 tbsp ketchup, 3 tbsp sugar, 4 tbsp water. Other ingredients - Capsicum, 2 small tomatoes, cucumber.

  • Rockmelon Sago - I saw rockmelons on offer at NTUC (<$4!) and bought 2 of them. With so many, I decided to make rockmelon sago. Added milk on own when eating.

  • Mango Sago - Used 3 thai honey mangos to make this, since I had pomelo from CNY. Added 1 small cup of the Yoplait mango yogurt. Did not add any sugar, as it as sweet enough. 1 tupperware box of cubed mangoes should be sufficient. Generally, for the blended, I used those flesh around the seed, as well as those from the cubes that are near the skin. Added very little fresh milk (think juz 1 or 2 tbsp, as afraid Darren couldn't take it), just to improve the consistency a bit, and to give it a richer flavor.

I finally created a new blog

I created this blog to capture the little achievements in my life, which I may easily overlook, the ups and downs in my life and the things that I learn along the way.
